HELP!!!! Fuel pump quick connect/lines broke

hey guys, i have an 02 ranger xlt, i just replaced the fuel pump.

there is a 3/8 quick connect with a 5/16 line on it, and

a 5/16 quick connect with a 5/16 line on it...

i believe this info is correct.^^^

my problem... the 3/8 quick connect broke, so i bought a "fix" at advance auto, but it only has a 3/8 nylon tube on it... so i cannot connect the little 5/16 line to it... how do i possibly fix this??!! the only thing i can think of is to buy a 5/16 to 3/8 barb fitting online (cant find it anywhere else) and connect them.

ANY help is very much appreciated!!!!

Welcome to the forum

They sold you the wrong repair piece

Dorman makes them and most parts stores carry Dorman parts

Have a look here: Dorman Products - Search Results

Get the part number you want and call around

you are correct. Unfortunately, nobody sells Dorman products here. ... so here's my fix.... buy another 3/8 to 3/8 quick connect clip with hose/barb on it, and put it on the fuel filter. Then run a piece of 3/8 rubber furl hose between. The filter and pump, zip tie to existing nylon line.... it's a 15 dollar fix... any good? I'm not looking for factory, just functionality.
