Help with P1036 Code
Got a P1036 code on my 96 ranger 4.0 2wd. I just got the truck, ran it a bit and the code popped up. I know sensor 2 is the 2nd O2, but which side is bank 1?
Also, before I just throw an O2 sensor at it, should I check anything else? And how do I do that?

I'm guessing that you meant P0136, not P1036. This is for "No activity, Bank 1 Sensor 2". Check for wiring problems. If there are none, it could be the sensor itself.
Bank 1 is the passenger side of V-engines. In the case of a single exhaust (most inline engines) and some y-pipe exhausts (like your 96 V6), Sensor 2 is the single, common O2 sensor that is positioned downsteam after one or more cats.
