Help!! Replaced my camshaft sensor post without the tool!! What can I do know?

I have a 1999 3.0l 4X4 ranger. I had my check engine light on for what seems like forever. I was told it was the camshaft sensor post so I bought it and replaced it. The code reader told me p0340 so I also changed the sensor on top. I saw the article on this site on how to replace it properly, after the fact. Is there any way I can properly sync up the camshaft sensor post now or am I shafted. Please any advice would be appreciated

I believe you would need the alignment tool and follow the how-to that requires you to find TDC. I would post a link but every time I do it won't be a clicky. Check out the "How-To" section, I know it is in there.
