"Holy Icecube Batman, that vent is cold!"

Ok, got a problem folks...

When I turn my dial to A/C the A/C works - check
When I turn my dial to MAX A/C the A/C works real well - check
When I turn my dial to Vent the A/C works - Crap!

WTF guys... you all have this problem? I cannot circulate air in my vehicle without turning on the A/C. While that isn't the worst it can be during the summer months, when it gets cold again I'm going to be uncomfy.

HELP!!!!

Jeff

your a/c compressor is turning on because its is on for every vent execpt for FLOOR ONLY and TOP VENT ONLY... other then that your a/c compressor is switched on... you can do this mod but then you lose your a/c

You are correct! At any setting besides OFF I seem to have my A/C coming on. I've heard of this problem but can't remember what it is to do about it.

Your selector switch "may" be broken.

I suggest to test the purple wire coming out of it and see if its has voltage at every setting. It should not have any voltage at the vent only and floor only settings.

Um, I've done this mod and it's controlled off a switch. I can turn it on and off as I please.

Yup, sounds like a glitch in the selector switch. The A/C demand circuit should be off when in the Vent position. Check the purple wire in the mod to see if you are getting voltage when Vent is selected. Hopefully, it's just the selector and not the PCM going nutty. Let me know what you find, and I'll post the diag procedure from the electrical manual.
