How to check position of neutral saftey switch?
My reverse lights on my 96 ranger with an automatic are no longer working. Is there a way to check or adjust the position of the neutral saftey switch?
It might be other things, reverse switch or grounding at the lights, have you checked the bulbs and sockets or maybe the wire running to them is broken, does the socket have power ?
Just a few thoughts.
Just a few thoughts.
Check fuse 26 (15 amps hot in run) in your dash for power. Then check for 12v entering the NSS at the P/O (pink/orange) wire. With the truck in reverse you should see 12V at the black and pink wire. This wire leads straight to your lights so you should see 12V at your bulbs on the black and pink wire.
The bulbs and the fuse are both good. I have zero power at either bulb socket or the pink/orange wire at the NSS. I'm leaning toward maybe it's the NSS, to my understanding the reverse light sensor is part of the NSS. Any other thoughts? Im really hoping its not, kind of a waste to replace the NSS since it works properly, truck won't start in gear.
