How to pull ignition cylinder?
All I have a 1992 Ranger with a standard non tilt column and need to remove the ignition cylinder. I have most of the column torn down but Ijust don't see how the cylinder is retained in the coulmn. The Haynes I have is for 1993 and newer and the columns must of changed becuase it isn't much help
Good luck! It's a nightmare!
I've been told that you can drill out the pin that holds it in, but if you try that be careful. I had to swap out my column about 5 months ago because the bearings went bad and was lucky enough to find a donor at the local pick-n-pull with the keys. Then I just swaped my old cylinder into it.

well take a screw driver and hammer it in there and then take a awl and push it in the pin hole on the bottom of the column, twist and pull it out. or use a slide hammer and hammer something into it or use a lack bolt and srew it in. something to grab on.
