how to remove tail gate? 98 ranger

how to remove tail gate? 98 ranger

Got the one side off but the other side is stuck ??

Help Please

one side you have to pull the tailgate out a bit and tug a good tug....

one side is notched the other side is not. the side that is not is like a peg, you need to slide it off the peg.

It shouldnt be to to hard to take off just give it a good TUG!

Haha Mine just falls off almost every time I open it. I think there maybe too much grease on it.

My friends S10 tailgate the latch releases while its going down the road. She was moving to her dorm and it released on the freeway and she lost a bunch of her stuff. I just laughed.

I believe that you have to have the tailgate angled up and something like 30 degrees up from down to get it to line up with the peg on that side.

Still won't come off? I sprayed it with wd-40 will let it setand try again?

Anybody else had this problem?

^^^HAHAHA! that had to suck, mine fell of one time at the front gates for OZZFEST.. was sittin on it drinkin (i was 17 then) and playin cards etc... cops pulled up.. went to get off.. and the ***** fell off.. and i busted my *** in front of the cops.. ya that wasnt fun
