How To Replace Cruise Control Switches for a 1999 Ranger
Need some advice on how to replace the two cruise control switches located on the left and right sides of the steering wheel on my 1999 Ford Ranger. Each switch has two mounting tabs that are part of the plastic body of the switch. Both tabs on each switch have broken and the switches won’t stay in place. I would like to replace them and have found replacements on eBay. It looks like the driver’s air bag has to be removed in order to get to the switch mounting screws. Has anyone ever replaced these switches and could give me some guidance? Thanks for your help.

The video spells it out perfectly.
I did this 5 weeks ago as my stock switches literally fell apart.
The removal of the harnesses from the switch NEEEEEDS to be gentle. Try not to bend any of the contact pins as they can bend very easily...straight pull, straight push.
Other than that, you should be good.

For safety purposes, disconnect the negative terminal from your battery first. Can't be too safe!
