In my 2000 ranger they key is hard to turn and only turn after a bunch of wiggling and fighting with it. Just wondering what I could do to fix that,if I should get a new ignition cylinder or what?

 

Put some graphite lube in the key slot and on the key.

But I would look at getting a new ignition key cylinder, it can be rekeyed to work with existing keys, just take it to a locksmith with your working key and he can repin cylinder to match your key.


It could be the steering wheel lock or ignition switch rod is starting to fail, which is making the key hard to turn.
This requires some disassembly to get to these parts
