Installed my CB
the first and only place i thought to mount the CB was in place of the ash tray. i don't have any actual use for the tray, and the CB fits pretty much perfectly in the space without it looking like body panels are missing, so it made the perfect spot. on top of that, it's easy to reach while driving, and the speaker is not obstructed.
actually in the garage finishing up the wiring as i type this....gotta love laptops and wireless. i've been feeling like **** since the weekend, so that's about all i'll get done on that part. in the next day or two i'll go ahead and run the coax and mount the antenna and call it a day. and then maybe get around to mounting some Hella 500s on the front.
anyway, here is how it is looking.....the dash bezel looks terrible close up b/c of 12 years of wear. maybe i'll replace it or paint it one day.

oh yeah, i ran through 1st, 3rd, and 5th before i permanently mounted it to make sure everything clears......they do. the best thing of this is if i pull it out, no holes are visible and you would never know anything other than the ash tray was there.
i went ahead and wired in some quick disconnects in case i ever need to take it out....i won't have to cut the wiring.
