Installing Level 2 hooks

I just got some Level II hooks and tried fitting them. Didn't work out so well.

Does anyone have any pics of how much trimming I will have to do to get them to fit to the stock mounts?

I would like to do the least amount of trimming possible, also none of the cutting a square section, I would want it to look like no trimming was done. like cutting across the entire opening.

*I don't have a BL

**I'm mounting a front hitch next week, so if anyone has any suggestions for mounting the hooks to the hitch themselves.

Maybe it was ignorance on my part, but I didn't know the valences were different.

Thanks for the pic Bob

I think I will cut it straight instead of just those square, so it's not so obvious

But with my front hitch going in, I wonder if I could make it would without cutting, like mounting the hooks to the hitch higher than the stock hook location

I bought these hooks because I don't like the closed loop design of the stock ones

I had the same issue when I bolted my new hooks up, I used a hair dryer to slightly re mold the valance because I didn't want to cut either. then bolted the hooks down and it has been fine.

Apparently the opening size must be different on the 01-03 Valances. My Level II hooks fit right on my 04 with no trimming.

I'm not sure how helpfull the first thread is but the second one should have all the info you need.

I cut my valance and it's really easy. Don't be afraid to do it.

I think when my front hitch goes in, I might be able to make it work without cutting anything.

If the middle of the hitch sits higher than the hook mounts, I could just mount the hooks to the hitch itself
