Intermittent PATS issue now constant

The problem started about a year ago but stopped for a while then had come back with a vengeance.
While Making a long drive(Missouri to Minnesota) I realized I had no Tach, Speedo, or engine temp reading. I replaced the battery knowing it was about that time any ways. Seemed to fix the problem. 30 minutes later same problem. The gauges would twitch and stopped working altogether, come back, then stop working angain, and it continued the entire way to Mn. I checked all the connections and fuses and all seemed good, even drove around town with no issues. On the way back to MO it all came back just like on the way up. And anytime I stopped, the issue would seem to resolve itself. The problem persisted for a few weeks, then stopped altogether.

That is until about a week ago. Just like last time I lost all readings. Turned it off, and tried to restart it, and nothing. With the PATS light blinking furiously, i assumed maybe the key wore out. Tried the spare and nothing. Checked all the fuses, relays, connections all seems good, but the PATS light is still flashing(it’s flashing the code 1/6)
I ordered a new transceiver hoping that would fix my problem. I went out the next morning hoping time fixed the PATS. Turned the key and still the light was flashing. In frustration and probably lack of sleep, I cycled the key in the ignition about 5-8 times, and lo and behold the pats light was gone. Worked like a dream for a whole week. This morning I went out and neither keys work and I’m now back at square one. I replaced the transceiver still nothing. Checked the battery and its reading 12.39v.

Could the keys be going bad? Or maybe the ignition cylinder? Any help would be appreciated.

TL/DR; pats system on, relays and fuses good, battery good. Original keys, new transceiver, and I don’t know what else to check
