Intermittent Turn Signal - Bulbs OK

2009 XLT V6 A/T Several weeks ago I went to use the left turn signal and heard the tell-tale rapid click, indicating a burned out bulb. It is a 2009 after all. No big deal. Was trying to recall where I had bulbs stashed, and after a few minutes returned to normal operation. “That’s weird” I thought. Must not be the bulb(s). Kinda fingle fangled with the sockets and bulbs. Brake light inop, flasher inop. One filament lights when headlights are on. No left turn signal.

Any ideas or common problem in this era truck? I might try to swap bulbs to be sure, but the filaments look fine, and the fact it failed once before or intermittent leads me to thinking it is something upstream. Can a relay do this or something?

Cleaned up the ground point connection with a file for the left rear so it’s clean & shiny bright. Didn’t expect it to work and it doesn’t, but it’s one more thing that it ain’t, I guess.

Gonna have to bust out my fancy troubleshooting light I guess. Did have an RV connector installed at the hitch about a year ago, looks like they tap into the wiring of course. And there is a large electrical connector under the bumper right there. Need to see if there is juice getting to that point I suppose. Maybe they buggered something up there.
