Jerky Acceleration and Black Smoke

Hello, I am pretty new to working on vehicles, so I do not know much. My Ranger gave the following codes:

P0171 - System Too Lean (Bank 1)
P0113 - IAT Sensor High Input Problem
P1506 - Idle Air Control Overspeed Error

The idle is fine (maybe changes slightly sometimes, but nothing erratic), sits at just below 1000 rpms. When I rev the engine, some black smoke comes out. When I accelerate, the truck is extremely jumpy unless I press the gas pedal down substantially, then it is smooth, but with not much power. I have cleaned the MAF sensor (IAT sensor is inside it), and tested the IAC valve, which I found to not be working (permanently stuck closed). I have tried to look for vacuum leaks, but am not too confident that I am doing a thorough enough job. I have inspected all the hoses I could find, and they all seem fine, and spraying soapy water around didn't show me anything. I plan on replacing the IAC valve, and maybe getting some help to look for a vacuum leak as a couple people I spoke with thought that this was the problem. Also, is there a way to test the IAT sensor to see if it is working? Replacing the MAF is around $100 if I remember correctly, so I would rather do that only if it is needed. Do those fixes sound like they will get rid of the problem, or should I be considering other possibilities as well? Thank you for any help or suggestions you have.
