I have a 2002 FX4 and i didn't get a key fob with the truck. I bought one off of Ebay and tried to link it to my truck but it won't work. I can enter the program mode by turning the key from off to on 8 times in 10 seconds and the door locks go up and down, but when i hit any of the buttons to sync the fob and the truck, nothing happens. Any ideas? ( I changed the battery in the key fob already) Thanks

 

No thoughts as to what it might be besides possibly a bad remote?

 

Could be either a bad remote or incorrect remote for your vehicle.

Also double check the battery voltage & placement in the remote. You could have a low voltage output battery or the battery could be installed incorrectly.

Also double check the programming sequence, some Rangers (like mine) require the on-off-on sequence to be done 5 times while others require 8 sequences.
