Cruise Control/horn/Airbag problems

I have a 1995 Ford Ranger. All of the electronics on the steering wheel don't work.

~Cruise Control doesn't work.
~Horn doesn't work.
~Airbag light saying it is not functioning is on.

Does anyone know what it could be, or have had the same problem. I would really like to have cruise control when i have to drive to college, and knowing the airbag works would be nice too. I was told it could be a relay, but i don't know where to find this relay, or if its even that.
Thanks!

~Greg

I'm pretty sure all three of those items listed have their own fuse so one would not take out the entire group. I would check the plug that is on the steering column and connects all of those functions to the main wiring harness. Make sure it hasn't come loose or anything and that the connection is solid.

Where would that be located? underneath the dash? or will i have to take apart the steering wheel?

Sounds like a clockspring problem. It's the thing that allows you to turn the wheel and keep connection for electronics. On my 01 it's a real thin ribbon of wire that probably could break pretty easily.

It's behind the airbag.

Clock spring or airbag sliders.

Yeah the bag has to come off.

Downside is you can see if the clock spring is broken. Disconnect the battery before you start on this, and wait 5 minutes.

i would say clock spring as well. if you have to replace it, you will have to pull the steering wheel off as well. you'll need a puller to do that.

Okay. I went to the auto parts store, and they could not find a clockspring for a 1995 ranger. only 1997 and newer. Does anyone know where i could look to find one? Or know if one from 1997 would work. Thanks!
