4.0 mpg, 02 sensor and crusie control quesitons
I have a 1996 mazda b4000 with 120k on her. I just wrapped up a bunch of work on the ol girl. First off I replaced the valve cover gaskets, upper and lower intake gaskets, plenum gaskets, injector o rings, plug wires, plugs, air filter, radiator and probably some stuff I cant remember. I cleaned the intake very well and also the maf sensor. Today after a week of driving like a an old man on a sunday drive I got almost 16 mpg. my first question is that as good as it gets. I have had this truck 4 years and I thought I used to get better than that. I bought 3 new o2 sensors but after the first snapped off I stopped that bit of the project. Any ideas on how to get the broken thing out or am I best to cut the bung hole (teehee he said bung hole ) off and weld in a new one? any other things you can recommend that might help my performance and mpg. Also there is an amazing u pull it junk yard near me that has 50+ rangers and I want to know if I can just pull the entire cruise control system off it and plant it in my truck. I see that the wire harness is there under the hood but I don't feel like tearing apart the steering column to check to see if the wires are there. Also will the ecm need anything to make the cruise work. I need to get another 10 years out of the ol truck so id like to at least enjoy driving it on the highway and cruise would help. my only other beef is the garbage stock headlights does anyone know of a decent after market light? I know there are a million kinds of nice projection lights for a ranger but yet to find anything for my mazda. Thanks in advance for any and all help
