LED Replacements

I burned out my 3rd brake light like 3 time in the past 6 months. So after frustration im ordering LED's for all the bulbs that arent allretty.

The bulbs are for a 2003 Ranger

Heres what i have so far Correct me if I have the wrong number!

WHAT ARE THE TEMPATURE CONTROLL LIGHT NUMBERS? ARE THEY NOT 194????
3 (194) Both Licence Tag lights, and glove box

3 (912 ( a.k.a. 906, 922)) Dome lights

2 (3157) Tail light bulbs

2 ( 3156) Reverse Light

How reliable are the bluish bulbs that are not LED for reverse lights that claim the give 2x light over stock?

Interior cab lights????? 3 bulbs? what are the numbers?
does anyone know the proper light numbers for the interior lights, and how to take it apart?

The 3157 and 3156 numbers for the tails are correct. However you will not find any LED's for those that don't suck. There are lots of choices out there but they are all pretty lame. The housings were not designed to work with those things and the light output is pretty dismal. I suggest the JP7 LED tail light mod.

If your going to buy LED's I suggest you buy from superbrightleds.com. They are here in American and offer a great customer service. I have 2 white 25led's for backup and soon to put 3 hyper white led's in my Super duty third brake light. They are a little more expensive but offer a peace of mind knowing you can just mail them back if they don't work or they don't send the right one.

3157 replacement LED units might work better in those light housings. Get the brightest ones you can and do like FRXLT said. Buy American.

THINGS CAN GO WRONG WITH LED's.

it was ridiculous.

Yes they can go wrong. I bought some LED's off of ebay that where made in china but sold here in America. All they do is flicker. I had to go back to stock ones until I could get new ones from superbrightleds.com I would rather buy once then buy x5 from ebay. Trust me ebay ones are junk spend a little more money and get ones that are made right. Like I said I have 2 in my over head console, and in my reverse lights and have been using them for a year and no problem. I used the ones from ebay for 3 days and they flicker and turned to poop. Just giving you a heads up and not waste your money.

The plugins that you will find all pretty much suck. I have aftermarket tail lights also and I have the L1224R (of course) in them.

My entire truck is LED, there are no bulbs left. What interior bulbs are you asking about?

I can get you a lexus 3rd brake light LED setup for your 3rd brake light. It works excellent. Myself, and another member (Trent) have it.

I have tried those before, they are the best direct plugin you can get along with the 60LED vleds.com ones.

I dont know what I should do! I was planning on buying cheap replacement LED's for that 3rd brake/cargo dome insted of replacing the whole thing with a LED one.

I found these cheap LED's, yes there in china but there $1.35 for 4 ( thats what the bids at anways) even though I only need 3, there so cheap!! I relize there's a good chance they could be terrible quality but there $1.35

You cant use "just the bulbs"

you need the backings of the tail lights, the bulbs, and the harnesses..

See Shane's thread for grueling details on how to install them.

I have a few L1224R setups left, but I may not want to sell them just yet as I may want to keep them for my future vehicles. I do not know yet.
