Good afternoon Ranger Forum! I have an 03 3.0 2wd that I bought a few years ago with about 50k miles on it. I bought it from a college student, it was previously owned by a local plant. I'm not sure what it was used for at the plant, but it runs great, interior is nearly perfect (surprisingly), the only obvious wear and tear is the bed rails show a little abuse. I'm going on the assumption that it was used to get around inside the plant, so probably short, low speed trips. When I bought it I did a basic tune up and have since changed the starter, thermostat, valve cover gaskets, fuel pump, fuel filler hose, fuel filter, front shocks, u joints, and trans output seal. At some point I'll need to change a leaking oil pan gasket but hoping to wait until fall to do that. Assuming that it's life at the plant was short, low speed trips and considering that my main use for it is an 8 mile commute to work (one way), is there any maintenance and TLC outside the standard maintenance schedule I should be thinking about to make her as reliable as possible? I know just due to the age seals and hoses will probably need attention. I really like the little truck and would like to keep it on the road as long as possible! Thanks in advance
