manual t-case swap link

Can someone link me to a good build thread for swapping the unreliable automatic 4x4 switch for a manual shifter.

I have an 01 Edge 4.0L 4x4, auto tranny.

I searched and couldn't find a build thread.

If you can link me there, that would be great. Thanks

The whole reason I started this was to do some research on the manual swap.

I did a diagnostic and was told my 4x4 shift module was bad.

I don't use 4x4 that much and wonder if it's really bad. It was suggested to me from another mechanic to get under the truck and find out if the actuator on the transfer case was just stuck.

Apparently, according to him, that if not used that much, these actuators tend to get stuck.

What do you guys think?

on the flip side, chicks love the manual t-case
