My Differential Tag Code Reads

23 75 2K18. I get this as 7.5 Dia Ring Gear, 2002 Nov 18.

What's the 23?

I must have searched/tried 50-60 posts and web sites.

You're missing some numbers there.
Look on the driver's side door/door post for the axle code and post that.

edit
see if this helps you

Ford Ranger Axles - The Ranger Station
That should help ya, along with what Ken posted.

Oops. Well the door sticker says code 86 and I got that figured out. Its the numbers on the tag bolted to the Diff that I was interested in as a double check.

This is a 2003 Ranger. The entire tag reads:

V 868 K
23 75 2K18 What's the 23?

I dont think it reads 23. Its probably 73 and you are missing the 3 infront of it

^^ Agreed. The bolt that holds the tag on often covers up part of the code.

yea, if it says 73. i'd gues you've got 3.73s. someone beat me to the whole "might not be a 2 might be a 7" post.
i'm also guessing it's an open dif since there is no L or L/S that you posted up in the code.

i can't tell if that's sarcasm or not. But he meant an Open Differential, as in no factory Limited Slip

Gulp! Sorry about that. It was meant to be funny. Not a very good attempt.
