my windshield wipers wont work i need help

my windshield wipers wont work i need help

i have a 2000 ranger 3.0l 4x4, for a while i would put new fuses in and when i would hit a small bump my stereo would flash off and my windshield wipers would stop working, ans now whenever i put a new fuse in and turn my truck on the fuse blows.

i need help cause i dont know if its a loose ground or what, and its suppose to rain all week and i have no windshield wipers

A loose ground does not normally cause a fuse to blow. Which fuse #s have you been replacing?

sounds like a short circut somewhere...because with your radio flashing and then not turning on at all sounds like a connection came loose and is touching something it shouldnt

its the # 16 fuse which is a 30, how could i fix it?

Have you installed an aftermarket radio? There isn't any apparent connection between the factory radio and the wiper/washer on fuse #16.

yea i had one put in last year, #16 is just the windshield wiper moter and relay

Yes but you said it was somehow affecting the radio too. The factory radio isn't on 16 so it makes me suspicious of the installation of the replacement.

I just bought a 2002 Ranger XLT. The wipers worked when I did my walk around, but after I got home, they didn't work anymore. there was an after market radio installed, and I removed it, it appeared to be wired to the factory radio plug, nothing seemed out of the ordinary. Afterwards, i installed new wiper blades, and tested them, only to find the wipers no longer worked.
Checked the #16 fuse, it was good, and had voltage on both sides of it.
I'm not sure what the problem is yet, I will look into it more tomorrow and let you know what I find...

My cruise control is also not working... :-(

Well, I got my wipers working. it was the #20 fuse (GEM/radio)
replaced the fuse and all is well again...

Still no cruise control though, :-(
