3 BURNED FUSES! MIRROR SIGNALS :irked:

I was wiring up my Mirror LED signal/running lights and I burned 3 Fuses. The running(park) lights one twice (15a) and the one inside the cab for signal lights or something. As well I have no dash lights for some reason ( hoping its the same fuse).

I have the signal mod infront so my corners flash alertnatly of the signals. I also have All LED lights in front ( signals and corner) with the EP 27 flasher.

Everytime I'd try to hook up the wire to wire's going to the corner light to the new LED ones on the mirrors I'd loose everything and fuses would burn. WHY??? Posible short in the new wire? or something else wont let me? What if i wired it backwards? would that allow the negative and positive to short out?

P.S. My Ground goes back to the negative wire, not to a ground.

Well everything worked. Even the drivers side worked when i tested it. Then The passenger side, I hooked it up directly to the same wires going to the corner so they flash and run normaly and when I'd hook it up the fuse would blow. And I loose all the signals/park lights

No. You have some other related wiring wrong. I couldn't tell you what since I'm not looking at it.

if you hooked the LED up backwards you can probably internally short it out, causing a whole new set of problems.

Hooking up and LED backwards will usually result in nothing happening. Its a diode. Current will only flow one direction. Usually if an LED fails or burns up, they fail open and no current will flow. However, if the LED failed and by your bad luck failed to a shorted condition, that could be your problem.

Yes, IF the LED is blown and your bad luck is such that both connections inside the LED are touching each other. Take the LED out and see if it blows the fuse.

Whatever it is you are hooking up. If you are connecting the mirror and the fuse blows, then the problem is in the mirror.
