Turn signal fixed itself? Huh?
Far be it from me to claim any expertise in wiring issues. I can just about find a ground and check the voltage and continuity, that's the extent of what I know how to do. I'm a motorcycle fanatic and the automotive electrical system mystifies and scares me.
I got this '99 with an obvious front end collision but the frame is straight, it's been repaired and painted, and it rides great. But when I got it, the left side signals would flash really quickly, clicka-clicka-clicka, while the right were flashing the sedate normal rate. No bulbs burned out.
Suddenly overnight the left side fixed itself. Grounds don't UN-corrode all by themselves, do they? I didn't touch anything, it just started flashing normally again. The truck had sat up unused after the new motor and bodywork were installed, so I imagine the vibrations could have possibly worked the bad ground loose. Which is even worse, because that means something's going to wear out and rub through soon, shorting the whole thing.
I did a search but happy to hear if this might be common.
The last lighting issues are from the air bag, which deployed on the passenger side, and the check engine light, related to a simple oxygen sensor. I hope to address these tomorrow.
The last un-important electrical issues I've found are simply the front speakers not working on the factory stereo. Yep, factory. I reckon this is a simple disconnect left over from the front end collision repairs.
Otherwise I'm really happy with the Purple Rain(ger) which is quite an admission from a life-long Asian vehicle lover.
