need help fast guys.....

so driving home today, litterelly just before pulling into my drive way my battery light AND ABS light came on. so i parked with the truck running, sounded fine no rough idle etc. after turning the truck off and restarting it only the battery lite stays on. i turned off the truck until further action taken....

History- -battery light always came on when rpms went over 4000.
-had oil changed by a shop ( one time only :( ) and i read on the paperwork they put 4.5qts in when it takes 5 qts so i added half a quart of lucas oil until the dipstick was at the top hole.
-battery is less then a year old
-and lastly just had my drums and rotors turned a day or so ago

so before i go and buy an altenator i want some opinions from some ppl

Go to autozone and have them run a free battery and alternator test.
