Need service manual link ASAP! Truck down miles from home!

Hey guys! Was offroading and killed my alternator. I want to test it but have no docs with me, like an idiot.

Some time ago a link was posted to Ford service CD ISO images of the service manual CD's. I can't find that topic. Anyone have that link???

I need to verify I need the alternator so I can get one before everything closes.

Thanks, Christian. Not the one I was looking for, but useful anyway. This was a link to ISO images that could be burned on CD to make service manuals. I suspect the site has been taken down -- but who knows.

Edit: Ha! I wrote the above and posted and when it came back you had already edited, lol.

S'okay. I'm fine. I really need a service manual so I can check the wiring to the alternator to see if it really IS the alternator. Oh well, my bad for not keeping a CD in the truck (I do have a laptop in the truck for crying out loud...).

Thanks, my friend, for the prompt reply. It was some time ago it was posted and it may have been on djaye's board for all that I can specifically remember. And that board gets "wiped" periodically so it's probably lost.

I have every service manual from 1992 to 2002 at home -- just not here in 'Jersey!

I did get some cool movies today though. What's $125 for a new alternator if you had a good time???

Bagged it for tonight. Getting dark and late and parts stores closed by the time we finished eating and got to it. THANKS for the diagram and links everyone.

I'll either trace it to something, or replace it with a remanufactured unit tomorrow. I have two choices -- a $125 rebuilt or a $150 Bosch rebuilt. Suggestions? I'm leaning towards the Bosch but I wonder if it's worth it.

Thanks all once again and TOM I'm sorry I forgot to call you back when I said I would!

It was the alternator. $125 later it's up and running. Thanks again everyone.

Glad you got it worked out. I keep a copy of the service manual for mine with my laptop at all times. Since the laptop usually goes everywhere with me.

Glad its up and running, John, I've replaced two alternators on the side of the road at wheeling meets.. actually they were both in the same truck on the same day! (Advance sold us the wrong part the first time.. it bolted in but didn't charge the battery.)

I assume your truck is in good running order for Centralia one month from now? I can't wait to see everybody again. :)
