2001 3 liter misfire 200k Miles NEED HELP ASAP
Started running a bit rough missing in the mid rpm range. I ran the code and it came up as 'random misfire' so i replaced the coil pack. After this it's at least idleing better, but still has a misfire at the mid rpm range.
Im thinking to believe its a bad injector, what are ways to test forsure if its the injector thats bad before i pull it? And how intense is the install of a new one? Average price of new(remanufactured) one?
Codes its thrown was-
Random Misfire Detected
Bank 1 Running Lean
Cylinder 1 & 3 Misfire
Something thats strange too is if I unplug cylinder 1 and/or 3 injector wire harness nothing changes in noise or idle. But as soon as cylinder 2 is unpluged it starts making all sorts of pinging or clanking noise......
If anybody can lead me in the correct direction that would be Greatly Appreciated.

My 99 ranger 3.0 ltr did something similar. Make sure that you verify that the misfire is coming from one cylinder constantly. If so check spark and compression. If those are both good I would change the injector. After I replaced my injector the engine ran beautifully again.
Mine did the same thing and after replacing the plugs, wires, coil pack I cleared the code out move the injector for the cylinder that was miss firing and when it came back I replaced the injector that the miss fire moved to. For me I had a miss fire on Cyl. #5 so I moved the injector from #5 to #3 and then drove it for a day. When the light came on it had moved to cyl. #3. Seeing as you have a miss fire on cyl. #1 and #3 I would move #3 to #5 and #1 to #2. It's not hard to do and takes about 30mins to an hour to take apart and put back together. You can PM me if you need help
