New Battery no juice in system

Well I was having starting issues and was having to short across the starter solenoid just to get it started. Then it would not start that way so I jumped it and shorted across the solenoid and it turned right over. Then all of a sudden it won't even start with a Jump. Tested Battery and it is done for. I bought new battery and now I get nothing. I check voltage on Battery 12.2, Checked it on the Solenoid same. All clear fuses look fine. not sure where to go from here.

Welcome to the forum

Year of the Ranger would help?

New battery should be 12.8volts, even 13volts

12.2v is a dead or dying battery so take it back

As for the starting with the key, need to know the YEAR and manual or automatic transmission, they are different as far as starter wiring?
