Icon5 New Fog Help

so i bought new factory fogs that go in the factory spot in the bumper. i installed them and they dont turn on. i have a 2004 XLT 4x4 that does not have the fogs from the factory. i have the hole and the plug in the bumper. i plugged them in and they did not work when i tried to turn them on. i was wondering if i need to buy a new relay and or switch to make them work. a friend of mine had said that if the lights were not a factory option then the relay wouldnt be there i would have to buy them... thanks guys and sorry if its a repeat thread i looked it up and didnt find anything.

Do you have an in cab switch for them? It should be in the radio bezel. Also you may need a relay or 2 in the underhood fuse box.

No switch, no foglights. Not trying to be a jerk. Not sure when ford went to the headlight/foglight switch being on the "same" switch, but if they're not then you'll have a switch on the bezel near the radio. Hope that helps. I wouldn't be able to tell if you need to relays or not.

Just buy a bezel with a fog light switch and replace your bezel with the bezel that has the button for the fogs. look on ebay first sometimes they'll have that stuff.

If the truck had the wiring at the valance it might have the wiring for the switch. Not sure though. Here is a pic of the bezel with the switch.

Don't be confused by the Explorer bezel. It has a rear wiper switch instead of the 12v aux plug and a switch above the fog lamp switch for the rear defogger.

Ya, I just now got in from installing mine dude. I believe if you have the wiring down by the fogs then there is a plug behind the bezel for you to plug you switch in.

I got my bezel from the junkyard for $10 with the switch on it. The thing is though is that I had to hard wire mine. You should not.

To bad I did not know on Saturday. I could have picked you one up. They had a 4x4 Ranger there with fog lights on it. Had an 8.8 rear end to.
