New Guy, Strange New Truck

Hello all I'm Austin and I'm new to the forums. MY truck isnt really that strange except theres quite a few things about it that puzzle me. I got my ranger a couple months ago for 800 bucks and I love it. It had been driving through a fence at one point int its life so it got a new front clip and grill and is getting a new bed Has no bumpers but I'm in the process of locating stock bumpers for it.

Anywho down to the real question. Its a 4 door extended cab and its quite strange because its got manual windows, locks and no cruise or foglights, but i believe it is wired for all. It has the 2001 axle not the 2000. It does not have any backseats nor are the holes for the seats threaded. The holes are there but no threads. I bought a set of jump seats for an 01 4 door without even checking the holes so now I'm stuck with them cuz i paid a little more for the seats than i probably should have lol.

I plan on threading the holes and installing them but my question is is there any way to find out why it was ordered so strangely? Ive never seen a 4 door without rear seats nor one thats been wired for all of the options it has.

I think Ford just used the same wiring harness for all rangers. Mine did not come with map lights or cargo lights but it was wired for them, so they were easy add-ons. You could order older rangers pretty much however you wanted. I got mine with nearly every option, but was still able to keep the rubber floor.

Most likely it was ordered as a fleet vehicle so you get the cab for storage but no seats and since you have the v6 which was an upgrade most of the stuff IE power windows and what not would be prewired just not installed they use one harness for all those things saves on cost. Those feature would have been added at another plant so coming off the assembly line prewired made it easier to add the options if ordered.

Makes sense. I may not even bother with installing the rear seats and ill just throw them in if I ever sell it. Anyone know of a cheap place to find a stock front bumper? Everyone around me has hit something and i cant find a straight chrome bumper to save my life
