Icon9 No airbag light at start up.....

Hi there I have a 2001 Ranger XLT and when it starts up I have a series of chimes. 5 groups of 5. I read somewhere that it has to do with the airbag system. One thing I noticed is that the airbag light on the cluster does not go on....ever. Is the chime just an alert that the light is out? The light for the passenger airbag goes on at start up and then goes out like it's supposed to. I've read threads that talks about changing the Passenger airbag light but haven't found any for the dash. Is it the same kind of bulb as the passenger airbag light or is it like the rest of the guages?

The light in the cluster is like the rest of the lights.

Yes. Fix the airbag light and it will stop. If the airbag light then flashes at start up, count the flashes and you will have a trouble code to work from.

PAD switch bulb is soldered in; airbag indicator light bulb is in a socket in the cluster and is replaceable like other cluster bulbs.
