No dash lights and other out also

Hi, I have a 93 ranger 4.0 4x4. I was going down the road at night and my dash lights flickerd twice then stayed on. The next morning no dash lights at all but still had headlights. The next morning I had a person behind me flashing their lights behind me. I staterd looking for smoke or liqid behind me. Nothing. Whne I got home I still had headlights and turnsignals. I got out and looked i dont have running lights or brake lights. I cheked all fuses under hood and dash, all were ok. I then changed the headlight switch. No change. I have been told by friends I either have a bad brake switch or not getting ground. I thought id ask here before I started just replacing stuff again. Thanks

I'd start by checking all the grounds. That would be the most likely.

Thank you for the reply! Apparently the new switch I replaced was bad. I got a standard motor products switch instead of parts store brand. Once plugged in everything worked again.

Nice. My dad had a switch in his pickup last winter that went bad and started melting wires. So I'm glad you got it fixed.
