Tail lights, dash illumination, persistent prolem

UPDATE: Fixed the problem. Fuse #3 was actually blown and I didnt notice till I double checked. Thanks be to God. Delete if mods want
---------------------------------

Hey guys, can't get my dash and running lights working on my 1997 Ford ranger 4.0 2wd automatic

I checked fuses in both boxes visually
I cleaned off contacts in the dimmer switch
I re-connected wires at back of truck where bad trailer lights were spliced in
I cleaned up contacts a bit in the connector between the bed and the lights

Brake lights work
Head lights work
Warning/status dash lights work just not illumination
Scrolling all the way up and clicking up the dial turns on bed illum light

I'm learning how to use a multimeter bit by bit. I cut the brown wire at the back where trailer lights were in. I put a lead on both sides of the cut, Ohms shows continuity even when headlight switch and dimmer are NOT connected. Not sure if that's bad

. I just tested Ohms continuity on the 4 sets of prongs shown in the attached pic of the light switch in 3 positions, headlights , run lights and off:

Off: Ohms cont in the 2nd pair from the right
Running lights: No continuity on any pair
Headlights: continuity on the left most pair

I double checked this. Doesn't sound right to me but I don't know much.

Bed was recently removed and left outside for a few months and I'm not especially confident in the wires so ill be working on that while I wait.

Thanks for any help I've been working on this for a while now
