Icon4 No gauges working

My 2005 4.0 Automatic supercab 4x4 ranger was fine earlier today and I left for work and none of the gauges work now. (Fuel, tach, speed, etc..) It does appear that the backlighting is working. When I start up I do get a momentary battery light, and airbag light, but then it goes out. Any ideas where to start? I looked at all the fuses that seemed even somewhat related with no success.

Also the digital odometer is out also. All of these were working earlier today.

Thanks
JK

Icon5 Tried the fuses

I just checked out all the fuses, even the ones in the engine compartment. No luck. There are also relays, I'm wondering if one of those could be an issue. As far as I know there isn't an easy way to test those.

Keep the ideas comming

Thanks again
JK

I think you will probably find a blown fuse in the panel on the end of the dash. Drivers side. Check your owners manual. The manual for my 2002 says it's fuse # 11. (Instrument cluster, 4X4, main light switch, truck central security module.) Yours could be different.

I'll check for a fuse panel on the drivers side dash. The only fuse panels I am aware of on my 2005 is passenger size kick area(under glove box), and in the engine compartment drivers side.

I verified, no other fuses!!!

Any other ideas?

Update

After a few days of no luck with asking around I decided to do a reset of everything, I pulled the battery for a couple of hours. Now all of the gauges are working. My only guess is something in the main computer was locked up and the hard reset brought it back to life.

The electronic cluster in the 04+ has its own microprocessor to store the odo and run the gauges. That is probably what responded to the reset.
