04 ranger 3.0 Is there a fuse somewhere for the trailer tail lights? Have brake lights but no trailer taillights. Factory trailer plug.

My harness for the trailer connection comes straight off the tail light harness, meaning it uses the same fuse. There is a seperate ground though and they get corroded easily. Assuming you are 100% positive the issue is not on the trailer wiring...

Welcome to the forum

Brake and turn use the same bulb in 2003, so you should have turn signals as well

In 2003 the left and right turn/brake signals each have separate fuse to feed trailer light connector
Fuses 3 and 7 in cab fuse box, just FYI

But the tail lights in trailer connector is just spliced into the Brown wire at rear of vehicle
Brown wire is the 12volts for tail lights from light switch.

What bulb setup does trailer use?

There are converters, seen here: http://www.wiringproducts.com/tail-light-converters

I have a factory trailer plug in this 04 3.0 ranger. My trailer brake/turn lights work fine. There just is no voltage going to trail tail lights. Even tried my magnate tow lights. Now trailer lights work fine hooked up to my other truck. There has to be a problem with the Ranger. Is there a fuse/relay somewhere? Spent 2 hr.putting new stuff on then had to hook trailer to other truck to be sure.

There is a taillight relay BUT(big but)...........it has nothing to do with the trailer wiring, if it was bad trucks tail lights would be off.

This relay is used by Keyless entry system to flash all the Parking lights when you lock and unlock the doors.

If you have tail lights working on the truck then you will need to find where the trailer connector is spliced into that Brown Wire.
Brown wire is the Parking light 12v wire, Ford has used a Brown wire for this since........well since, Fords got parking lights, lol.

If you can't find it then you will have to add your own.
There is no fuse or relay involved for the parking/tail lights as far as trailer connector is concerned.

Have a look here and match the colors: How to wire up the lights & brakes for your vehicle & trailer

Don't over think it
99% of trailer light issues is the Ground, trailer hitch is NOT a ground
Other 1% is one of the 4 wires
Ground, White wire
Left turn, Yellow wire
Right turn, Green wire
Parking, Brown wire

Thanks for the comments. I was afraid I would have to splice into the harness and run my own wire to trailer plug. When trailer lights didn't work after I redid the wiring, I switched to my car tow lights and their taillights didn't work either. could not see any bad spots in harness. Might just run wire from tail light assembly plug. I was just hoping for an easy fix. Oh well WTF Bill

Trailer lights fuse found. My 04 Ranger has a SEPARATE trailer light fuse for the factory trailer plug. It is a 10amp (red) located on the passenger kick panel fuse panel. It is the rear fuse of the TOP TWO FUSES. Just happen to check all the fuses before splicing into the taillight wire.
