OHC Quit Working
OHC Quit Working
well guys i put my ohc console in about 2 months ago and i love it and it alwys worked great well i get in the truck today and it wont come on the lights still work so ???? any advice to get her working again
Your screen went out. It happens a lot. I had one go out too. You could flick it and it would come on, but go out again soon afterwards. If you dont have access to a junk yard, Ill pick ya one up on wednesday. They are $15 shipped, Just let me know!!!!
how easy are they to change i would hate to have to go back to the junkyard for another ohc cuz i just got it two mponths ago for like 60 bucks ill have to play with it and i might take you up on the deal
Ok cool... I get them a little cheaper. Hehe
John --
before you get too carried away tearing it apart to swap out the display, you might try hitting the [Mode] button once -- each button press cycles between Fahrenheit, Celcius, and no display.

...it's not all that difficult. pull the OHC down, unplug the display module take a couple screws out, remove the bad module... reverse the process to put the new one in. shouldn't take more than 20 minutes total, including the time to remove and replace the OHC in your truck.
Basically follow these direction ho how to change the display and it's basically what you will end up doing
Change OHC display

Before you get to carried away and start replacing things, check your wiring. Taps can be finicky or it might be a simple as a bad ground.
Always check the simple stuff before throwing parts at it. A rule I almost always forget

John -- I'll agree with you on the ground... the lights, however, are on a different power lead than the electronics, so the fact that the lights work doesn't mean all the wiring for the OHC is intact.
oh ok i wasnt sure about that but hey i didnt touch it and its working again so who knows maybe a wire was a little loose and came aprart idont know but it works know so hey b ut for 15 bucks ill buy another screen to be safe
