I got a OHC at the local JY today and Im goin by John's wiring instructions but I have 2 different colored wires that are different than his instructions.

1st...Grey with yellow stripe

2ND..Red with black stripe

His diagram list....

2A. Yellow/Gray (YE/GY) - console electronics power
2B. Blue/Red (BL/RD) - console display dimmer input

It has to be the above but since mine are different colors I want to be sure.

 

console .............. Ranger

red/black............. light blue/red - radio or HVAC panel
black.................. chassis ground
gray/yellow.......... yellow/black - radio
gray/black........... gray/black at GEM connector
black/light blue..... black/light blue at dome
light green/orange. light green/orange at dome
blue/white........... temp sensor
blue/yellow.......... temp sensor

 

Witch ones the power and witch is the dimmer input?

From what Bob posted before

#1 GRAY/YELLOW to 12V hot in RUN or RUN/ACC (Explorer Color Code)
#2 BLACK (again, spliced with black wire from MODE switch) to chassis ground (Explorer CC)
#3 GRAY/BLACK tapped to VSS wire on GEM, some models without GEM can tap into the GY/BK at the PCM (same CC Ranger & Explorer)
#4 LIGHT BLUE/RED or RED/BLACK tapped to instrumentation illumination (most Rangers use LIGHT BLUE/RED)
#5 DARK BLUE/YELLOW to outside temp sensor (Explorer CC, does not wire directly to Ranger harness)
#6 DARK BLUE/WHITE to outside temp sensor (Explorer CC, does not wire directly to Ranger harness)

 

Post the Pin positions of each color, I have two OHC's to reference off of.
