Oil Pressure Gauge/pump problem
Oil Pressure Gauge/pump problem
Hey guys,
I've recently noticed that after the truck has been sitting for a long period of time outside, the check gauge light stays on.. as well as the oil pressure gauge saying that there is absolutely no oil pressure in the engine.
This only happens in the cold temperature, and eventually after the truck runs for awhile the oil pressure gauge goes back to normal. I was wondering if this is a common problem on Rangers?
It worries me because when the the check gauge light goes on the truck does start more rough than normal...however it's only part of the time.
Thanks!

one thing about fords....
IF the sensor is reading above 8psi or somthing like that...it'll show 'nomal'. if it reads less, it'll go all the way down on the gauge. its a on/off gauge like aswitch.
hows your oil level?

Alright I bought a new oil pressure sensor sending unit.
I'm pretty sure the sensor is on the passenger side of the engine block near the transmission fluid? I can see a couple sensors and I'm honestly not sure which one is which, and I don't want to guess and then F up..
Can anyone give me like a more detailed description on where it is?
Thanks!

Yeah to be honest it was kind of a pain to replace..it wasn't in exactly an easy spot to get to with a ratchet.
And of course I didn't have a 13/16" deep socket either..the only size I didn't have. haha.
