overdrive light blinking

overdrive light blinking

i have a 04 2WD ranger and the overdrive light started blinking, i restarted the truck and it went away and i havn't drove it since, anybody know what this means and how i can fix it, i dont want to spend a fat load of money to buy a new tranny right now, any ideas

it is a tranny problem. and by turning off the truck it resets the light until something happens in the tranny to trip the code again.

mine did it a while back, but hasnt done it since.

did the truck feel different at all when you were driving it?

Go get the transmission code read for free at AAMCO or another quality transmission shop... I am guessing its an automatic... COuld be the beginning of what i am dealing with right now.... I have found a fix that should work if you just search for my Performance Transmission thread....
