30,000 mile maintinance
I'm almost to 30,000 and the service manual list a number of things to do. I have also looked at the haynes manual and it lists more things that should be done . There are a few things i'm not sure if i should do but it says its a good idea in the haynes manual . obviously fluids air filter yada yada yada will get done.
should I include the follwing things for a 30,000 mile tune up. I drive offroad with heavy dust and dialy driver in LA traffic.
service battery ? stock is maintinance free and i don't need to do anything ?
check/replace pcv valve
lubricate caliper friction points
check hub lock, spindle , and front wheel bearing lubrication
adjust rear breaks ? does this mean go in reverse and slam on the break to tighten the ratchet?
flush cooling system ? should i really go to the factory recomendation which i think was 100,000 or something like that .
replace fuel filter
lubricate driveshaft slip yokes
Lubricate right front driveshaft slip yoke

It looks reasonable to me, other than the battery should be fine, and you probably don't need to concern yourself with the rear brakes unless you suspect a problem there.
You know the drill about changing the motor oil and replacing the filters (air/fuel/oil).
Cleaning the MAF sensor might be a good idea on account of the dusty/severe duty conditions.
Every 25K or so I like to take a large turkey baster and suck some of the PS fluid and brake fluid out of their reservoirs and top them off with fresh stuff.

I'm also not sure what the caliper friction point is and the haynes manual doesn't really show a picture .
any idea how much a MAF might cost ? I was thinking thats something that could easily be replaced on the trail ? maybe if i don't replace it i should just get one to keep with the emergency stuff ? i heard you can clean a MAF sensor , like if it gets some k&n oil on it .
