Putting in an anti theft plate in your door

Well my friends truck got stolen with the technique where you use the antenna so I was wondering if someone could put up pictures if they have done on how to put a plate and where to put it so they cant do this.

Honestly....who cares? They can take a screw driver and shove it into the key lock hole, tweak it out and get in that way too. That's happened TWICE to a real close friend of mine's truck. Or break a window. eff it.....who cares. Get an alarm. No sense in fixing one thing when you've still got tempered glass windows and they've got fists......

I looked at doing that a few years ago and came to the conclusion that it is not practical to add a plate without making the door handle inoperative - it needs the clearance of the factory holes to allow the handle to move through its travel.

My solution was to cut out the lock rods instead and then add a keypad to prevent lockouts. I also have added an alarm.

Is this not what the the jimmijammers does?

Yeah I agree. Just dont leave stuff people want in open view inside your truck.

I am looking into it because it is so damn easy to do it, the big thing is the tools are right on the truck!! And it's not hard at all to do, I took of my antenna and by the time i had the door opened was like 20 seconds and that was my first attempt and I watched an Youtube video and that's it. I talked to a couple people in my school and they say "they know people who just do it on a random Ranger because they can and it's so easy"

No, bob is not the origionator of the one I have, though he did inspire it... Nice try though Shane... Not like I was trying to promote my for sale thread or anything...

Speaking of which, maybe I'll bump it...

And while the fancy led lock mod doesn't prevent theft of your vehcle like an alarm does, it does, as a byproduct, remove one method of entry into the vehicle, effectively making it more difficult to get into (however easy it still may be)

Who inspired you? That's right....you said Rwenzing. Who was the first to do it on a Ranger? Oh yeah...that's right, Bob Rwenzing. When did he do it exactly? Back in '03/04. Your argument is invalid and trying to down a Ranger God is, in my opinion, a banable offense.

I am absoultely not trying to "down" a ranger god, simply stating that inspiring ir NOT the same as origionating, seriously you are that petty that you would ban someone for saying that two mods, while similar, are obviously not the same thing?

Are we done with this childish arguement that has nothing to do with putting an antitheft plate in someone's door?

Feel free to pm me if you want to continue this discussion though Shane
