Quick Question

1998 Ranger with 5 speed manual trans. Can clutch pedal piston be removed from master cylinder while in the vehicle without loosing fluid? How? (plastic end broke between pedal pin and piston metal rod - dammit)
Thanks in advance.

The Master comes with push rod attached it is not normally removable

But you can remove piston, if you want to try and repair it.
DRAIN the reservoir FIRST
Piston is held in by a c-clip that can be removed, and piston will come up and I assume out, but never tried the out part, there will be some fluid coming out because reservoir line is higher than that end of the Master but it won't be much, there is no Pressure in the system, just gravity.

Video here on the C-clip removal: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pd1KDCAhTLc

Clutch Master is not hard to change and not that expensive
