Real brake lines. Assistance please!!!

Hey! Thanks for your help!
I have a 2003 2wd ranger and had a leaky rear wheel cylinder. I replaced the wheel cylinder but had to cut the brake line. The line fitting that went into the cylinder was ceased. Can I unbolt the other end of the line at the splitter (located above the rear axle) or how would I go about holding the splitter to unbolt the line fitting? The splitter is onlt mounted by a thin tab. Thanks for any input!

Put your fingers on top of the splitter and hold it down, there shouldn't be a ton of force involved in loosening the fitting.

How about an adjustable wrench on the splitter.
Squirt the fitting you are removing with BP Blaster or one of the Chrysler Rust Buster Sprays; do this a couple of time and let it set.
Watch out if thinking about using heat, brake fluid is combustible.
Also, use Tubing Wrenches on the fittings, except if they won’t come out then it is the old Vice Grip turn.

Luck,
