Really loose shift lever.... HELP

Hey guys hope you can help....

I have an 02 B3000 5sp and I am having an issue with my shifter. The truck did just have a new clutch put in about 2500 miles ago and the truck has about 77k on it. The issue is the actual shifter is extremely loose. To get it in 5th or reverse I need to push the shifter WAY out to the right and when it is in gear (all gears) the shifter is extremely loose. It does go into gear fine (well besides my 2nd gear synchro issue BLEH) there is just ALOT of play.

Hopefully its just a bolt or something that came loose but I havent had the time to pull up the cup holder and boot and look at it. Hopefully its a quick (and inexpensive) fix becasue I am prob looking to get rid of the truck soon.

Any help you guys could give would be great.

Thanks,
- Jim

Rebuild the pivot using a shifter repair/rebuild kit...

OR...pull up your console and boot to see if the shifter bolt is loose. It's a cam bolt, so its a little awkward to figure out.

this shifter pack is very easy to rebuild, just make sure that the thrust washers are aligned into the holes in the top of the transmission.

How to...
