Remote power locks ?

I have a new (to me) 2003 Ranger Edge with power windows and power door locks. The truck came with only 1 vanilla ignition key. How can I tell if the truck is equipped with remote entry locking and, if so, can I get an ignition key with the remote built in ?

From what I have heard, to test if your truck has "Remote Keyless Entry"
Is to try and enter programming mode, if it will go into programming mode, your truck has it.

Page 67 of your owners manual tells you how to

As to the key with the fob built in, a few people have found one on eBay that claims to fit and work, but it didn't do either.

I don’t understand. Program what? Unfortunately, the truck did not come with a manual either.

I put a link in my post for your owners manual.

Read page 67, it tells you what and how to enter the program mode.

I get it now. If the truck tries to program a remote, it must have remote locks ! Makes sense. Thanks for the link too

The truck “tried” to program a remote so I went ahead and bought 2 for $7 on EBay. Got them today and programmed them in less than 1 minute. They both worked fine. Thanks for the help (my wife thinks I’m sooooo smart)!
