Hey all,
I just took out the air silencer on my ranger.

Do I need to cut off the piece that fits into the box behind the headlight and stick it in the air box to fill the hole, or do I just take out the snorkel and leave it like it is?

The snorkel comes out and you have a bigger hole in the side of the box

 

Yeah I see that. In the "How to" guide it says to take the air box out and the box next to the headlight, but I'm not sure why.

You have to remove the box to get the snorkel out. The snorkel runs into the fender
