Removing/replacing EGR tube
2001 2.5L 5-speed XLT has had an exhaust leak since I bought the truck in June. I put my vacuum/blower on the tailpipe and traced it down to the EGR to exhaust manifold connection (rusted at the flare fitting).
I'm looking at buying a replacement from CarID and wondered if I need to order anything in addition to the tube itself? To those who have replaced these, what did you buy, and what issues did you run into?

Nobody has had this issue? Wow, I'm surprised. I guess I'll add comments based on my own experience then.
I ordered the EGR tube (Dorman #598-140) and the connector from CarID on 12-18 for $74.95 I added the tube connector because I wasn't sure if I'd be able to remove/reuse the existing one.
EGR tube = $58.59
Tube connector = $16.36
Shipping = $12.64
The shipment arrived at my door on 12-21.
I had time to work on it today, and I'm glad I ordered the connector. The stock connector was rusted together with the lower, flared portion of the old EGR tube. I was able to remove the old connector and lower tube fitting together, but could not break them apart.
I removed the EGR valve together with the old tube to allow a bit more clearance during installation. I removed the EGR valve form the old tube, and test fit it to the new tube. Fitment of the tube and valve assembly into the exhaust manifold was another deal. The tube was similar, but not an exact fit. I had to mock it up and remove it several times to get the flare fitting at the exhaust end AND the valve bolts to line up at the top. This was the most time consuming part of the whole ordeal. Once I was satisfied with the fitment, everything was tightened and closed up.
Overall I am pleased with my CarID purchase. Price was great. Shipping was exceptional. CarID is not to blame for the fitment issue. I think Dorman should have better quality checks in place. I really can't complain for the price though.
This solved my exhaust leak issue and I'm hoping it resolves my CEL p0171 code. I also replaced plugs and wires which seemed to help with the sputtering I was experiencing lately.
