like for each of the posisitions of the switch would turn only 1 thing on at a time. OR build up like a wiper switch or headlight switch turning one thing on the the first and a second and so on. Like position 3 would be 3 things on at once. and pos 1 would be only one thing.
I have a feeling this is a Strobe, flasher, wig-wag, Rotator,Siren thing Right????!!!!!!

Do you think maybe you could grab a headlight switch off of another ranger? It only has 2 selections but I'm just wondering if that could work for this type of application. I dont see why it would'nt.

Does the 4x4 switch have the 3 positions that your looking for? I don't see why it wouldnt, all you need it to do is move the electric current to the right lights, thats what the switch does, just sends a electric signal to the transfer case. If im totally wrong a apoligize lol, im only 2WD so im just using my common sense right now.

Don't you have a 12v powerpoint to put in it's place? That's what I'm gonna do with mine. They look to be about the same size.

Get a stock rear wiper switch *** and use the switch you need in the back. I was thinking using the *** but putting the volume control for an amp behind it. I think someone here did that if I remember correctly.

The switch isn't a switch as your thinking it is.

Its a basically a three setting resistor. It will not flow much current. The GEM uses the referenced voltage drop it creates to switch modes. IE 2wd 4hi 4lo

So you would need to build an electronic device that mimics the gem and uses relays to accomplish what you need.
