Shaking when stopped, Cylinder 6 misfire
Shaking when stopped, Cylinder 6 misfire
I have a 1998 3.0 V6 Ranger, and my check engine light came on and the truck shook when stopped, so I read the code, and it was a cylinder 6 misfire. I replaced all the spark plugs and wires, and the light went off for a bit, but now the check engine light is back on, and it sometimes shakes when stopped, sometimes it does not. It still reads as a cylinder 6 misfire.
My question is where should I look next? I'm not sure what might be causing this issue, so I don't know what to check/replace next.
Thanks

A misfire will throw the balance off in the motor ever-so-slightly which may be causing the shaking.
Fix your misfire first. Then worry about the shaking.
My '97 with a 3.0 also has a misfire code....well actually 2 misfire codes...and shakes at idle.
Check your motor mounts as well.
