Smashed a rock DAMAGE

Went blasting through a water hole with some mud and smashed a rock. It tore a whole in the IFS in the front and i now need a new transfer case. Cracked it leeky now i took a pic. i dont know if its fine to leave it as is or just weld some plate in there. truck drives fine.

Ironically, it hit a rock, lol.

I've seen another ranger, actually in my apartment complex, with similar damage. He's had a hell of a time keeping it aligned ever since. He put a superlift on, thinking the straighter drop bracket would help... not so much. Not saying you will have the same problem, but that looks pretty gnarly.

Yes. Lol I plan on doing the tranny in a week or so. The cvs will be tomorrow and a tcase if I can get one for.a decent price at the Jy this week. The core isn't a big deal at this time just a few drips.

Skid plate most likely wouldn't have helped that much. The stock ranger skids are practically tinfoil anyway. OP sucks about the truck man.

Wirelessly posted (Droid2)

Sounds bad, I hung a refrigerator in a mudhole one time. Someone thought it would be a good place to dump it I guess.

Ouch, that sucks man! I would definitely be concerned about future alignment issues! I think if I were in your position for that part I'd straighten the best I could and then reinforce it!

I'm not dumb enough to just go full throttle into a mudhole that I didn't know was free of boulders or trash.

My ladyfriend tried to be like me once, and go thru a large puddle over the road doing like 45 (in her Grand Am GT) and the "ram air" sucked up some water, it was hilarious.

Dude, every time you go through a puddle, you come out with damage.

Busted joints, oil in your seat (not related, but funny) and now this.

I think your truck is mad at you now. You un-murder it, and then you trash it. lol.
